In August 2011, Preeti Sharma Menon joined the India Against Corruption movement in Mumbai. At the time of Aam Aadmi Party’s inception, she was appointed the Secretary of Maharashtra state[4]. She was the lead person in charge of the 2014 Lok Sabha election for the party in Maharashtra. In 2015, Preeti Sharma Menon was made the National Co-Convenor for Overseas and Fund Raising, and in 2016, was appointed as a National Executive Member in the party.

Preeti Sharma Menon has been the AAP Mumbai President for the MCGM Elections since September 2020. Under Preeti’s leadership, the AAP has challenged the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government on its management of Mumbai’s civic issues, amenities and infrastructure.

She has actively worked in exposing scams of the powerful politicians like Chagan Bhujbal, and has raised allegations of corruption and misuse of power, against BJP state president Chandrakant Patil, Shiv Sena MLA Yogesh Kadam, and IPS Officer Deven Bharti.

As the Mumbai President, Preeti Sharma Menon envisions bringing the AAP model to Mumbai, with the agenda of eradicating corruption, ensuring fiscal prudence, and providing due standards of civic amenities in Mumbai.
